Are we in it? (original painting)

$300.00

Acrylic painting and colored pencil on 18” x 24” canvas, part of the “Hold Me Close” exhibition hosted by SF Ocean Ave (details)

This piece is inspired by the cyclical nature of trends, consumer electronics, and the surge of identifying who you are with a collection of trinkets and charms. The camera referenced is my old metallic red Kodak digicam, the likes of which have come back into popularity, with personalized charms and stickers adorning the thin, palm-sized cameras. In an effort to revive my middle school digicam and keep up with the latest craze, I bought a replacement battery and adapter only to learn that the camera can no longer take new photos. All I’m left with now is a sizable collection of my selfies from 2011 where I’ve completely missed, and my face is nowhere in frame.

💌 For interested buyers, I will reach out to discuss possible local drop off and shipping details. Please note that the listed does not include shipping for the buyer, and will be calculated after purchase as the buyer’s expense.
